Embed a live testimonial widget in Webflow - no custom code, no CMS setup, just paste and publish.

Webflow is great for building beautiful sites without code. But when it comes to testimonials, most Webflow users either hard-code them into the design (tedious to update) or set up a CMS collection (overkill for most).

There's a simpler way: use an external testimonial tool and embed the widget. One paste, and your testimonials update automatically.

Method 1: Embed Widget (Fastest)

Step 1. Set up a testimonial collection tool. Sign up at Quoted (free), create a project, and collect at least one testimonial.

Step 2. Go to the Embed Code section in your dashboard. Copy the widget code:

<script src="https://quoted.love/widget.js" data-project="your-slug" defer></script>

Step 3. In Webflow Designer, open the page where you want testimonials.

Step 4. From the Elements panel, drag an Embed element onto the canvas.

Step 5. Paste the widget code into the embed code editor.

Step 6. Publish your site.

That's it. The widget renders automatically with your approved testimonials. When you approve new reviews in your dashboard, they appear on your Webflow site without republishing.

Method 2: Webflow CMS Collection

If you want testimonials stored inside Webflow:

  1. Create a CMS Collection called "Testimonials"
  2. Add fields: Name, Title, Company, Rating, Body, Photo
  3. Add entries manually
  4. Design a Collection List on your page

Pros: Everything lives inside Webflow. You can design the layout exactly how you want.

Cons: Manual entry for every testimonial. No collection form - you have to copy-paste from emails. No automatic updates.

Method 3: Webflow + Zapier + Google Forms

A middle ground: use Google Forms to collect testimonials, connect via Zapier to create CMS items automatically.

Pros: Automated collection.

Cons: Complex setup. Requires Zapier paid plan for multi-step zaps. Google Forms looks generic. Fragile - if any step breaks, testimonials stop flowing.

Which Method to Choose

For 90% of Webflow users, Method 1 is the way to go. It takes 2 minutes, requires zero CMS setup, and the testimonials update automatically. The widget is responsive and adapts to your site's width.

Use Method 2 if you need pixel-perfect design control over every testimonial card and don't mind manual management.

Avoid Method 3 unless you enjoy debugging Zapier workflows.

Design Tips for Webflow

When embedding a testimonial widget, place it inside a Section with appropriate padding. A good pattern:

  • Add a Section with a heading like "What our clients say"
  • Below the heading, add an Embed element with the widget code
  • Set the Section's max-width to match your content area (usually 1200px)
  • Add top and bottom padding (80px works well)

The widget handles its own internal layout (carousel, grid, etc.) so you don't need to style anything in Webflow.

Dark Mode

If your Webflow site has a dark section, use the dark theme variant:

<script src="https://quoted.love/widget.js" data-project="your-slug" data-theme="dark" defer></script>

The widget will render with dark card backgrounds and light text, matching your dark section seamlessly.
