Carrd doesn't have a testimonial feature. Here's the workaround that takes 2 minutes.

Carrd is perfect for simple one-page sites - portfolios, landing pages, link-in-bio pages. But it has no built-in way to display customer testimonials. No widgets, no review sections, no dynamic content.

If you're a freelancer or small business using Carrd, here's how to add a live testimonial section that updates automatically.

The Embed Method

Carrd supports custom HTML embeds. That's all you need.

Step 1. Sign up at a testimonial tool like Quoted (free). Create a project, collect at least one testimonial, approve it.

Step 2. Copy your widget code:

<script src="https://quoted.love/widget.js" data-project="your-slug" defer></script>

Step 3. In the Carrd editor, click the + button to add a new element.

Step 4. Select Embed.

Step 5. Set the type to Code.

Step 6. Paste the widget code.

Step 7. Set the style to Inline (not lightbox or popup).

Step 8. Publish.

That's it. Your testimonials now appear on your Carrd site and update automatically when you approve new ones.

Carrd Plan Requirements

The Embed element is available on Carrd Pro plans ($19/year - one of the best deals in web hosting). If you're on the free plan, you can't add custom code.

If you're not on Pro yet and don't want to upgrade, the alternative is to link to your Wall of Love page instead. Add a button that says "See what clients say →" and link it to quoted.love/your-slug/wall.

Layout Recommendations for Carrd

Carrd sites are single-page and often narrow. Some layout tips:

Use carousel layout. It's the most compact option and works best on narrow, scrollable pages. Grid or wall layouts might feel too wide for a typical Carrd site.

Place it after your portfolio section. The natural flow: what you do → examples of your work → what clients say → contact form.

Keep it to 3-5 testimonials. On a one-page site, you don't need 20 reviews. Curate your best ones.

Match the theme. If your Carrd site has a dark background, use data-theme="dark" on the widget:

<script src="https://quoted.love/widget.js" data-project="your-slug" data-theme="dark" defer></script>

Alternative: Static Testimonials in Carrd

If you don't want a dynamic widget, you can add testimonials manually:

  1. Add a Container element
  2. Inside it, add Text elements for the quote, name, and title
  3. Style it with Carrd's built-in design tools

Pros: No external tools needed. Full design control.

Cons: Manual updates every time you get a new testimonial. No star ratings. No collection form. Doesn't scale.

For anyone collecting testimonials regularly, the embed approach is significantly better.

Many Carrd users build link-in-bio pages for Instagram. Adding a testimonial section - or even just a link to your Wall of Love - makes your link page do double duty as a trust-building tool.

When someone clicks through from your Instagram bio, they see your links AND social proof from real clients. That's a powerful combination.
